The tools are great, but one knife was missing when I received the knife set. I received the missing knife after a monthSo I love these tools. I am a beginner, but if I was more talented I’m sure I could carve whatever I wanted with these. I have arthritic small hands, so I’m honestly impressed with how ergonomic these feel. However, it’s important to use gloves to help protect your fingers.Chip knife did not fit in wood box. Had to carefully open box to find chip knife did not fit in box. Broke box. Palm slant knife had a cracted handle from blade through top of handle.The case was delivered broken missing a wall. The broken wood was not even in the package, so I know it was packaged broken, it was not damaged in transit. The KN13 detail knife has a very rounded point not a fine point. The FR307 v-gouge edge is completely ground wrong, it has a point sticking forward at the actual cutting part where the two edges come together. The FR309 u-gouge is not ground evenly it is very lopsided. The shafts on the FR309, FR 307, and FR306 gouges are all crooked. Additionally, all the gouges I checked are dull. It would take quite a bit of work to fix these problems and tools that I do not have.I bought these for my 84 yo father, trying to get him a hobby, wow he has had them since August and works with them every day,He is not a pro but a novice ,but this is prob the best gift my sister and I had ever given him, he has projects everywhere and enjoys them a lot?Ok so I bought these for my husband for Christmas. I was surprised when I saw him looking at another set. So I toldWhat could I Say except that I would get him the set he was looking at. And now I own this set...looks like we will both be woodcarvers when we retire. Very nice set for a beginner and the tools seem to fit my small hands just fine. Only four stars case has small crack.These are very good quality carving tools. Well made and packaged. They arrived extremely well honed, sharp, and ready to use, which was a pleasant surprise. I've purchased other brands of chisels in the past that required considerable sharpening before they could be used. I use my chisels primarily for carving in soft woods and linoleum blocks and I don’t have a requirement for a large variety of blades, so this kit is fine for me. If you are looking for a more versatile carving set (more types and sizes of blades) I’d recommend the Flexcut 11 piece carving kit, also sold on Amazon. And for those people looking to buy tools made in America, good news, these are made in Erie Pennsylvania. I highly recommend this set as well as other Flexcut carving tools.this product was expensive and the packaging was cheap and broken. I had to glue it together to gift it. The packaging was not practical and did not make for a nice gift. The carving tools themselves are okMy husband loves these carving tools. The tools are exactly what he wanted. This brand costs a lot more other places. The box isn’t great but the tools are excellentSo far I like the product, will know better as I use it more. Taught it was funny to get bandaids with it.??Excellent tools. Love the way they flex when you carve. Could be a bit sharper but the edge is decent.some blades much thinner than expected for the price.Great tools! Very useful!
